Domestic Violence Workshop

Juanita_Guillen_Program_Coordinator_Casa_de_Familia Community Lawyers Inc. hosted a Domestic Violence Workshop at Casa De Familia in the city of Santa Ana in an effort to bring awareness to the issue. Domestic violence can be defined as a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. Abuse can happen to anyone and comes in many different forms. According to SAHARA's website, 1 IN 4 women, 1 IN 9 men in the United States are victims of domestic violence at some point in their lives. If you or a love one are a victim of domestic violence please remember that you are not alone and there is help and legal remedies out there!

Private attorneys volunteer to provide legal education and information to the public through self-help clinics and workshops. Some workshops are developed specifically for legal aid eligible clients while others are open to all. In order to keep our doors open we request a minimum donation of $25 for attending our workshops or clinics.

There is a $1 fee per half hour of computer use & a 25¢ fee per page to print or copy.

Thursday 2/16: Immigration Consultation (5p.m.-7p.m.)
Saturday 2/18: Small Claims & Evictions Clinic (9a.m-12p.m.)
Saturday 2/18: Expungement Clinic (12p.m-2p.m.)
Wednesday 2/22: Worker’s Rights Consultation (5p.m-7p.m.)

*Tenants facing evictions may walk-in Mon-Fri for a consultation with BASTA*

All clinics and workshops take place at the Community Lawyers Access Center located at 1216 East Compton Boulevard, Compton, CA 90221.

Whether you are a solo practitioner or a corporate lawyer, retired or a new attorney, the community of low- and moderate-income individuals who cannot afford market rates and do not qualify for free legal services, need your help.
